International Food Festival organized by the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York
We are truly honored to have participated in this year’s International Food, Wine, and Culture Festival, organized by the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York and hosted by the Consulate General of Türkiye in New York. This remarkable event brought together diplomats, consular representatives, and New York City officials to celebrate the unity and richness of global cultures through food, wine, and tradition.
It was a true pleasure to showcase Serbia’s vibrant culinary heritage and national specialties, offering a taste of our traditions to an international audience. Alongside our traditional dishes, we had the honor of presenting a musical performance that highlighted Serbia’s cultural richness, contributing to the festival’s diverse celebration of music, dance, and flavors.
The event featured 16 countries, each contributing their unique culinary traditions, wines, and cultural performances. In addition to Serbia, the participating Consulates General and countries included Argentina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines, South Africa, Thailand, Türkiye, and the United Arab Emirates. Traditional dances and music from countries like Bulgaria, Georgia, and Indonesia captivated the audience, while Serbia’s performance added to the vibrant tapestry of this multicultural celebration. The event beautifully reflected the diversity and unity that define New York City, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share Serbia’s heritage on such a prestigious stage.
We look forward to more opportunities to showcase Serbia’s culture and connect with the global community.

A very cordial and friendly conversation with the Consul of North Macedonia

A very cordial and friendly conversation with the Consul of North Macedonia, esteemed colleague Nikola Gjorcev, with whom I exchanged views on the post-election situation in the USA, with a focus on our region and our expectations of the new administration of President-elect Donald Trump. Once again, the friendship between our nations and states has been reaffirmed.

Serbia celebrates ArmisticeDay in the WWl as a day of victory

Today, on Armistice Day in World War I, we remember the Golgotha that our country and our people went through during the war years, but also we remember the perseverance and heroism of our famous ancestors, to whom we owe our existence today.

The Serbian people was the biggest victim of World War I. The Central Powers, driven by imperial ambitions, tried to erase a small but freedom-loving country from the map. In that war, Serbia lost more than a quarter of its population and 62 percent of the working-age male population.

It will remain etched in the annals of world military history that the courageous Serbian people achieved the first victory for the Allies on Mount Cer.

The devastated Serbian state and the suffering Serbian people rose from the ashes, just like the indestructible Natalie’s ramonda flower, an emblem that we proudly wear close to our hearts today.

Serbia paid a high price for freedom in World War I, which is why our country and its citizens will continue to protect Serbian statehood, freedom and independence as supreme national values. Long live Serbia!
