Workshop “Strength Is of the Feminine: Your and Our Stories”

28. Mar 2026.
At the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, on March 26, 2026, another workshop and dialogue in the series titled “Strength Is of the Feminine: Your and Our Stories” was held, dedicated to the empowerment of women and the exchange of experiences regarding their role in contemporary society, as well as their personal and professional development.

In his welcoming remarks, Consul General Vladimir Božović, PhD, emphasized the importance of marking March as a month dedicated to women, highlighting that the Republic of Serbia actively contributes to the global dialogue on the status of women, among other things through significant cultural events, such as the ceremonial concert of the United Nations Symphony Orchestra, with notable participation from the Republic of Serbia, under the leadership of music director Predrag Vasić, conductor Vesna Šouc Tričković, and composer Ana Krstajić. In this context, he underscored the importance of continuous empowerment of women, fostering equality, and providing support for their full social and professional engagement.

The Consul General particularly stressed that the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York remains committed to organizing programs that encourage dialogue, networking, and the exchange of experiences within the Serbian community and beyond, noting that the Consulate General was the first to launch such an initiative in cooperation with the City of New York.

The workshop was led by sociologist Daria Filipović, who, through an interactive approach, enabled participants to share personal experiences, discuss the challenges and opportunities they face, and jointly explore ways to strengthen their personal and professional capacities. Special emphasis was placed on themes of women's strength, intelligence, and leadership, as well as the role of tradition and personal journeys in shaping identity.

Participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas in an open and encouraging atmosphere, establish new connections, and further strengthen their ties, once again confirming the importance of community and mutual support.

Following the official program, a reception with refreshments was held, allowing for continued conversation in an informal setting and further networking among participants.

We extend our gratitude to all participants for their active engagement and contribution to a meaningful and inspiring dialogue.

The Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York remains committed to fostering a culture of dialogue, promoting the role of women in society, and supporting initiatives that contribute to the empowerment of our community.
