A very good and substantive meeting today in Los Angeles with Ronald Burkle — prominent American investor, founder of The Yucaipa Companies and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Montana and Washington State.

We discussed how the strong friendship between Serbia and the United States can be translated into concrete investments, business partnerships and long-term projects, connecting American capital with new opportunities in Serbia and the Western Balkans.

We also exchanged views on sectors where Ron has extensive international experience — investment, technology, distribution, hospitality, sports and entertainment — as well as opportunities to strengthen connections between diplomacy, international business and private capital through the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York – SoFC.

I am especially pleased that we agreed to remain in close contact and continue discussions on concrete projects.
