24. May 2026.
Today, I had the honor of attending the wreath-laying ceremony at the monument of General José de San Martín in New York City — one of the greatest liberators of South America and a lasting symbol of freedom, independence, and national dignity.
Together with diplomatic representatives, military officials, and friends of Argentina, we paid tribute to a man whose legacy remains deeply engraved in the history of Argentina, Chile, and Peru.
As the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, I strongly believe that moments like these remind us that freedom, national dignity, and friendship among nations are universal values that unite our countries and peoples.
New York, as the world’s capital of diplomacy, continues through such ceremonies to reflect the power of historical remembrance, mutual respect, and international friendship.
