SoFC President Ambassador Dr. Vladimir Božović Attends Program Marking the Approaching Centennial of Türkiye–United States Diplomatic Relations

The event, entitled “Türkiye–U.S. Relations on the Eve of the Centennial,” was held at the prestigious University Club of New York on Fifth Avenue. Dedicated to the approaching centennial of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Türkiye and the United States of America—1927–2027—the gathering brought together numerous Turkish and U.S. officials, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders and representatives of the media.

Minister Fidan presented his perspective on contemporary international relations and some of the most pressing geopolitical challenges, followed by a question-and-answer session. His timely and thought-provoking geopolitical assessments generated considerable interest among the distinguished audience and members of the media.

Following the Minister’s remarks, Ambassador Božović greeted Minister Fidan in his capacities as Consul General of the Republic of Serbia and President of the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York. He introduced SoFC as the world’s oldest and largest organization of foreign consuls and highlighted his excellent cooperation with the Consul General of Türkiye in New York.

Ambassador Božović also conveyed the greetings of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and emphasized the strong bilateral relations between Serbia and Türkiye. He underscored the importance of the personal dialogue and cooperation between the presidents of the two countries in further advancing partnership, regional stability and economic cooperation.

The event was conducted in an exceptionally cordial atmosphere, reaffirming the importance of direct diplomatic dialogue and regular exchanges of views on the most consequential issues facing the contemporary world.
