LET TODAY BE A CELEBRATION OF DEMOCRACY | Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York

As a diplomat and Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, I extend my warmest wishes to all citizens of the United States participating in today’s midterm elections for a peaceful, successful and dignified Election Day.

May this be a celebration of democracy — an opportunity for citizens to express their will freely, according to their conscience and convictions, with mutual respect and appreciation for different views.

I hope these elections proceed smoothly, in a democratic atmosphere, with full respect for the rule of law, the integrity of the electoral process and the freely expressed will of every voter.

May today’s elections once again affirm the strength of America’s democratic institutions and civic responsibility — values that have made the United States a beacon of freedom and democracy for so many around the world.

In the spirit of friendship between Serbia and the United States, I wish the American people peace, unity and continued prosperity.
