An interactive discussion titled "The Silent Weight of Migration" was recently held at the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York

The event, gathering many members of our community, focused on important topics that our compatriots abroad often face, such as the emotional cost of assimilation, imposter syndrome, survival strategies during relocation, and the role of culture and community as sources of support.

Guest speakers included Daria Filipovic, sociologist and psychotherapist; Ljubica Popovic, author and producer of the Ljubi Popovic Podcast; and Divna Milovanovic, psychotherapist and influencer.

The program and discussion were moderated by Sofija Sretenovic, while the audience actively participated by sharing personal stories and questions.

Consul General Dr. Vladimir Bozovic especially emphasized the importance of supporting initiatives like this, underlining that open dialogue and sharing experiences are essential for strengthening and empowering the Serbian community in the United States, as well as for easing the process of assimilation. Participants welcomed this initiative and recognized the importance of such meetings for better understanding the challenges they face and finding support among our people in the diaspora.
