The Executive Committee of the Society of Foreign Consuls SOFC in New York held its first fall meeting, with the participation of the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, Vladimir Božović, PhD, in his new capacity as Vice President of the Society. The meeting was chaired by the President of the Society, Consul General of Georgia, Ms. Maia Bartaia. During the session, members reviewed past activities as well as plans for the current and upcoming year.

Consul General Božović actively participated in the work of the meeting and proposed that the Society send a condolence telegram to the family of the late social activist and close associate of former President Donald Trump, Mr. Charlie Kirk. The proposal was unanimously adopted.

Consul General Božović also took the opportunity to invite colleagues, ambassadors, consuls general of member states, and observers from the Non-Aligned Movement, to attend the event organized by the Republic of Serbia within the framework of the United Nations General Assembly, as well as the lecture by Branimir Jovanović, PhD, a renowned scholar of the life and work of Nikola Tesla, to be held at the end of September under the auspices of the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York. The invitation was received with great interest and positive feedback.

The meeting concluded in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, with the warm hospitality of the Consulate General of Argentina and the Society’s Vice President, Ambassador Gerardo Díaz Bartolomé.
