At the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, a festive reception was held to celebrate the Serbian New Year
In addition to representatives of the Serbian community and the diplomatic and consular corps, the reception was attended by guests from the Tesla Science Foundation in Philadelphia, participants of the conference held in New York, as well as other distinguished guests.
Consul General Vladimir Božović, PhD, addressed the attendees with an appropriate speech, highlighting Nikola Tesla’s immeasurable importance for Serbia and the Serbian people, emphasizing that Tesla’s vision represents a lasting inspiration and a source of pride for our country worldwide.
The program began with a musical performance by the artist Danijela Veselinović, who played traditional Serbian compositions on the trumpet, giving the event a special cultural and national character.
During the program, and in collaboration with the media house Newsmax Balkan, the award-winning film dedicated to Nikola Tesla, Labyrinth of Tesla’s Mind, based on the story and script by Prof. Vladimir Pavlović, PhD, was premiered. The film had received a special award at the Nikola Tesla Film Festival in Las Vegas. In addition, the film Tesla and Nature, by Radomir Raša Perin, who was recognized by the Tesla Science Foundation, was also shown to the audience. Both works received highly positive reactions and delighted the attendees.
As part of the program, an exhibition of artistic works inspired by the life and work of Nikola Tesla was held.
During the program, the artists presented their works and spoke about the inspiration and connection of their creativity with the exhibited pieces at the Consulate General. The guests followed the artistic program with great interest and enjoyed the variety of content.
After the official part of the program, a festive reception with traditional Serbian dishes and beverages was held, which took place in an extremely pleasant and celebratory atmosphere.
On behalf of the Tesla Science Foundation in Philadelphia, the Foundation’s President Nikola Lončar and, on behalf of the awardees, Ms. Radmila Lukijan, addressed the attendees and expressed their gratitude to the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, headed by Consul General Vladimir Božović, as well as to all collaborators, participants, and guests whose presence and contributions made the successful realization of this significant event possible.
Through the organization of this event, the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York once again confirmed its commitment to promoting the life and work of Nikola Tesla, supporting projects that strengthen Serbia’s cultural and international ties with the United States, and celebrating the New Year in a dignified manner through this grand festive reception and program.
