At the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, on December 5, 2025, a Student Summit was held, bringing together numerous American and Serbian students from Fordham, Columbia, Cornell, and other higher education institutions within the consular district.

The event was dedicated to mutual acquaintance, strengthening understanding and cooperation, building new friendships, and presenting Serbia and its cultural and historical heritage.

The summit was formally opened by the Consul General, Vladimir Božović, PhD, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of initiatives that promote academic, cultural, and interpersonal cooperation among young people.

The students were also greeted by Lazar Paroški, President of OSSI USA, Nikola Batoćanin, a student at Fordham University, as well as Mohamed Ali and Boris Gurov, students at Columbia University.

The event provided an opportunity for students to exchange experiences, ideas, and establish new connections.

The artistic program included musical performances by flutist Mina Šuković and composer Miloš Raičković on the Serbian flute, showcasing authentic elements of Serbian musical tradition.

Following the official part of the program, participants continued socializing with music, enjoying specialties of Serbian cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere that encouraged conversation and the exchange of experiences.

The Student Summit highlighted the importance of initiatives that enable young people from different academic environments to learn about Serbia, its culture, and traditions, as well as to connect with their Serbian peers studying in the United States.

The Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York will continue to support and promote programs that strengthen cultural and educational ties between Serbia and the United States.
