Consul General Vladimir Božović Attends Presentation of Eric Metaxas’ Book Revolution in New York
The book explores the American Revolution and the path toward the independence of the United States, from the ideas and events that preceded the armed struggle and the Declaration of Independence in 1776 to the perseverance and sacrifices that made the founding of a new nation possible. The author pays particular attention to the spiritual and intellectual roots of American liberty, the convictions of the Founding Fathers, and the role of individuals in the historical processes that shaped the emergence of the United States.
At the heart of this historical narrative is the birth of a nation founded upon the ideals of liberty, inalienable rights, and equality — ideals whose influence extended beyond American borders and left a significant mark on world history.
Following the author's reading and presentation, Ambassador Božović addressed the gathering, also speaking in his capacity as President of the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York. On this occasion, he introduced the Society's longstanding tradition and its role in connecting the international consular community and strengthening international understanding and cooperation.
He thanked Eric Metaxas for his inspiring presentation and emphasized the importance of understanding the American Revolution, particularly in the year marking the 250th anniversary of American independence.
Having visited more than one hundred countries, including during official travels, Ambassador Božović expressed his deep respect for the American constitutional tradition, democratic institutions, and the freedoms of speech, the press, and religion.
Ambassador Božović thanked the author for a personally signed copy of the book with a dedication, as well as the representatives of the Grace and Mercy Foundation for their invitation and warm hospitality.
