His Excellency the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia, Vladimir Božović, PhD, met today with the Consul General of the Kingdom of Norway, Mr. Jo Sletbak, at the Norwegian Consulate General in New York.

The occasion proved to be a productive platform for direct diplomatic exchange between the two sides. Conversations spanned a range of topics of common interest, addressed from both a bilateral and international perspective.

A central theme of the conversation was the potential to broaden and deepen the cooperation between Serbia and Norway across several key domains. Both sides gave particular attention to the fields of development and education, recognizing these as pillars upon which lasting partnerships are built. Cultural exchange featured prominently in the dialogue as well, both Consul Generals underscored its vital role not merely as a symbol of goodwill, but as a genuine driver of mutual understanding and long-term relationship building between peoples and nations.

In that spirit, the forthcoming Expo 2027, set to be hosted in Belgrade, was presented as a uniquely compelling opportunity. Both sides emphasized that events of this scale carry profound significance, not only as forums for international cooperation and economic engagement, but as rare platforms through which nations can assert their cultural identity and showcase the richness of their heritage to a global audience. For any country, participation in such an exposition represents far more than a diplomatic gesture; it is a statement of presence, values, and vision on the world stage.
