Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, Vladimir Božović, PhD, met with the Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Kyriakos Poyiatzis

His Excellency the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, Vladimir Božović, PhD, received today at the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York the Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Kyriakos Poyiatzis.

The meeting was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, during which the interlocutors exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, both at the bilateral level and within the broader international context. Special attention was given to the traditionally close and friendly relations between Serbia and Cyprus, as well as to opportunities for their further enhancement.

During the discussion, possibilities for strengthening cooperation in the fields of economy, tourism, and education were considered, with emphasis on the importance of cultural exchange and direct contacts between citizens as a key foundation for deepening overall relations. The interlocutors also reflected on the current investment climate, highlighting the importance of encouraging economic cooperation and connecting the business communities of the two countries.

The upcoming Expo 2027 exhibition in Belgrade was highlighted as a significant international event and a valuable opportunity to present Serbia on the global stage, as well as a platform for further strengthening cooperation with partner countries, including Cyprus.

Both Consuls General reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the overall relations between Serbia and Cyprus, as well as their readiness to continue regular and constructive dialogue in the period ahead.
