Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, Vladimir Božović, PhD, held several meetings at the City Administration of Philadelphia

On the second day of his working visit, the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, Vladimir Božović, PhD, held several meetings at the City Administration of Philadelphia.

In a meaningful and productive discussion with Pierre-Olivier Lugez, Commissioner for International Cooperation, Consul General Božović addressed the organization of the Serbian flag-raising ceremony next year, on the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia, in front of Philadelphia City Hall, as well as the initiation of the process for placing the Serbian flag along the city’s main avenue, where the flags of many other nations are already displayed.

The meeting also included discussions on strengthening economic and business cooperation, as well as the involvement of the City of Philadelphia in the commemoration of the 170th anniversary of the birth of Nikola Tesla, which will be organized next year by the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, whose jurisdiction includes the State of Pennsylvania and the City of Philadelphia.

Consul General Božović also met with Charlie Elison, Executive Director of the Office of Immigrant Affairs of the City of Philadelphia, with whom he discussed the introduction of information in the Serbian language on the City’s official website related to migrant services and needs. The conversation also covered preparations for the Serbian flag-raising ceremony, engagement of the Serbian community in the event, and the organization of an accompanying cultural program.

Consul General Božović also held a working breakfast with Ms. Krista Bard, President of the Consular Corps of Philadelphia.
