The Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, Vladimir Božović, PhD, attended the World Summit on Artificial Intelligence

The Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, Vladimir Božović, PhD, attended the World Summit on Artificial Intelligence, held at the Nasdaq headquarters on Times Square, at the invitation of The Washington Post, the University of Maryland, and Nasdaq.

The summit brought together leading global institutions, universities, companies, and experts in the field of digital technologies and artificial intelligence. It was held during the week of the United Nations General Assembly and dedicated to marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the organization, which gave it special international significance.

Consul General Božović actively participated in the panel discussions and represented the Republic of Serbia, emphasizing that artificial intelligence in our country is no longer a challenge of the future but a reality already applied through e-government systems and the development of the IT industry. He particularly underlined that the electronic and IT industries represent one of the pillars of Serbia’s economic growth and strategic potential.

During the summit, Consul General Božović held talks with Kristalina Georgieva from the World Bank and other participants, expressing gratitude to The Washington Post for inviting Serbia to be represented at such an important international event.

As part of the accompanying program, a formal luncheon and reception were held, during which experiences were exchanged with representatives of the University of Maryland and numerous institutions and companies from New York.

The event gathered a large number of representatives from the business, academic, and financial sectors, providing an exceptional opportunity to showcase the potential of the Republic of Serbia in the field of digital technologies and artificial intelligence. Serbia’s participation in such an international summit further confirmed its commitment to regional and global cooperation in digital transformation processes.
