Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, Vladimir Božović, PhD, attended the two-day program “Familiarity Tour for International Leaders”
The event, organized by the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, brought together representatives of the diplomatic and economic sectors, as well as international partners interested in innovation and development in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and advanced technologies.
Throughout the program, participants had the opportunity to visit leading companies and research centers, including Discovery Labs, Arkema, West Pharmaceutical Services, KOKO Medical, as well as the Wistar Institute and the Science Center in Philadelphia. The participants were introduced to innovative projects and investment opportunities in the southeastern Pennsylvania region, recognized as one of the leading hubs for the development of the life sciences industry in the United States.
During the visit, Consul General Božović also toured a major investment project at the Port of Philadelphia, which represents one of the key infrastructure undertakings for the region’s continued economic growth. On this occasion, he met with representatives of West Pharmaceutical Services to discuss their very positive experiences in Serbia, where the company has opened a branch and is operating successfully.
Consul General Božović emphasized the importance of such initiatives that bring together representatives of governments, business, and academia, and contribute to strengthening economic relations and the exchange of knowledge between Serbia and the United States.
The program concluded with a reception organized by the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field, dedicated to promoting international cooperation and regional economic development.
