Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, Vladimir Božović, PhD, together with colleagues from the Consulate General, attended the solemn reception of the Miraculous Hawaiian Myrrh-Streaming Icon of the Mother of God.

Following the reception, he also participated in the Divine and Festal Liturgy at the Cathedral of Saint Sava in New York, served by Protopresbyter and parish priest Fr. Živojin Jakovljević, Fr. Milan Dragojević, and Fr. Nektarios, who accompanied the Icon.

Throughout and after the Liturgy, hundreds of parishioners, faithful, and guests venerated the miraculous and myrrh-streaming Icon, offering prayers in perfect peace and love. The entire event was flawlessly organized, and after the service a fellowship meal and agape feast were prepared.

On this occasion, Consul General Božović emphasized that “today we are all joyful and grateful to God that this Holy Icon has visited us. May the Lord grant that through its prayers, and through our own, this holy Cathedral may be renewed and shine again in its true spiritual splendor, to the joy of our large Serbian Orthodox community here in New York.”

This blessed day and gathering once again confirm that with God all things are possible, and remind us to unite in love, peace, and mutual respect, honoring the best and wisest among us. The Cathedral was filled with divine grace, holy peace, and the wondrous mercy of God — a blessing deeply felt and affirmed by all in attendance. Glory be to God, great are Thy works!
