Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, Vladimir Božović, PhD, attended a reception organized by the American-Balkan Chamber of Commerce

Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, Vladimir Božović, PhD, attended a reception organized by the American-Balkan Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.

This important event brought together representatives of all Balkan countries, with Consul General Božović representing the Republic of Serbia and the Consulate General in New York.

In his address and during conversations with participants at the reception, Consul General Božović expressed his gratitude to all attendees for their joint contribution to building bridges of economic cooperation between the Balkan countries and the United States. On this occasion, he emphasized his satisfaction at being one of the initiators of the idea to establish the American-Balkan Chamber of Commerce, together with former Consul of North Macedonia Nikola Gjorcev, as well as Eliza Prendzov, President of the Chamber, and Kiril Savovski, the Chamber’s Director.

Consul General Božović stressed that this was not the first successful event organized by the American-Balkan Chamber of Commerce in New York, expressing confidence that there will be many more in the future, with the aim of strengthening economic and business ties between the Balkans and the United States. He highlighted that the Republic of Serbia, as the largest successor state of the former Yugoslavia, attaches great importance to economic cooperation and remains firmly committed to regional stability through joint economic initiatives and cooperation.

The President of North Macedonia, Mrs. Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, delivered a keynote address, leading the state delegation together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Timčo Mucunski. Other countries were represented at the level of ambassadors and consuls general.

At the invitation of Consul General Božović, a significant and numerous delegation of business leaders from Chicago attended the reception, represented by members of the Serbian American PAC, led by its President, Mr. Goran Petković, along with Mrs. Marina Švabić, a representative of the business community from California.

In a very cordial and pleasant atmosphere, Consul General Božović invited business leaders to invest in the Republic of Serbia. The event brought together a large number of representatives from the economic and business sector in New York and provided an important opportunity to discuss ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation.
