At the invitation of the Church-School Congregation, the Church Board, and the parish priest, Protopresbyter Aleksa Mićić, the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, Vladimir Božović, PhD, attended the celebration of the Kolo Srpskih Sestara (Circle of Serbian Sisters) patron saint’s day — the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos — at the Church of the Holy Ascension in Elizabeth, New Jersey, held on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

The celebration began with the Holy Liturgy, followed by the blessing of the Slava bread and a festive luncheon with a musical program in the parish hall.

In his address, Consul General Božović emphasized the importance of the spiritual, humanitarian, and cultural mission of the Circle of Serbian Sisters, who through their devotion and selfless service preserve the faith, tradition, and national identity of the Serbian people in the diaspora. The Circle of Serbian Sisters across the lands where Serbs live has a long and glorious history. Their continuous activity within our churches and numerous charitable endeavors represents the foundation of our church communities and has also inspired acts of kindness toward all, including those outside our church circles.

Consul General Božović underlined that what unites us is our shared mission — to organize and strengthen our people for the benefit of both our Church and our nation.
