The Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, PhD Vladimir Božović, attended a reception aboard the training vessel JS Kashima of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), held in Jersey City, New Jersey, on the occasion of the visit of the Japan Training Squadron.

The reception was hosted by Ambassador Satoshi Katahira, Consul General of Japan in New York, and Rear Admiral Ryoko Azuma, Commander of the Japan Training Squadron, who welcomed members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of institutions, and distinguished guests from the international community.

During their cordial meeting, Ambassador Satoshi Katahira extended his sincere congratulations to PhD Vladimir Božović on his election as President of the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York (SOFC). Ambassador Katahira noted that Dr. Božović is an outstanding choice for this distinguished position, emphasizing his professionalism, leadership, and dedication to strengthening cooperation within the diplomatic community. He also expressed the full support of Japan and the Japanese diplomatic community, offering every possible assistance in the successful fulfillment of his new responsibilities.
