Ambassador Dr. Vladimir Božović, Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in New York and President of the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York (SoFC), participated in the prestigious SuperReturn Private Wealth US West 2026 conference in Los Angeles, where he delivered the keynote opening address and joined a central panel discussion on the impact of geopolitical developments on wealth management and investment strategies.

In his keynote, Ambassador Božović highlighted the growing role of geopolitics in investment decision-making, emphasizing that investors must increasingly consider political stability, energy security, supply chains, infrastructure, regulation, market access and international relationships alongside traditional economic factors.

He also addressed the new geography of global capital, the importance of resilience and diversification, and the expanding role of private capital in energy, infrastructure, technology, artificial intelligence, defense, logistics and critical resources.

A significant part of his remarks focused on artificial intelligence, which he described not simply as a technology or software story, but as an issue directly connected to energy, infrastructure, data centers, semiconductors, productivity and capital investment.

Ambassador Božović also highlighted Serbia and the Western Balkans as an emerging part of this new investment landscape, emphasizing the importance of connectivity, technology, infrastructure, market access and trust in creating new opportunities for economic cooperation and investment.

During the panel discussion, he further explored the relationship between diplomacy, trust and capital flows, stressing that trust between states, institutions and business partners can reduce uncertainty and create conditions for long-term investment.

He concluded by emphasizing that geopolitics, resilience and trust are becoming increasingly important elements of investment strategy, while private capital will play a significant role in shaping the evolving global economic architecture.
