Prime Minister Ana Brnabic attended today the signing of a cooperation agreement between the companies Millennium Resorts and Marriott International on the construction of a hotel complex in Vranjska Banja. Brnabic stated that this investment will revive the south of central Serbia, and it will also bring new investors, jobs for citizens, higher wages and a better standard of living. She underlined that this is the largest project of Marriott International in the Balkans and the biggest investment in the Serbian tourism at the moment. According to her, it is difficult to bring projects to certain parts of the country that are far from Belgrade and where there are not many investors, and who do not see those places on the map of investment destinations, even though they are. But, when you attract one investment, another comes, a third starts, and that area begins to develop on its own. That is sustainable development, said the Prime Minister. Brnabic assessed that the moment when this biggest investment in Serbian tourism is being realised is not at all easy, because everyone is still struggling with the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic. Some of the biggest consequences are suffered by private companies and that is why I thank the Millennium team for not giving up on this project or postponing it, but going ahead with it so that Vranjska Banja could have such a pearl as soon as possible, the Prime Minister underlined. US Ambassador to Serbia Anthony Godfrey said that the project of building this complex in cooperation with Millennium Resorts and Marriott International is important for both Serbia and the USA, not only in the economic, but also in the cultural sense. He stated that one of the most beautiful hotel complexes in this part of Europe will be built in Vranjska Banja. |
