Members of the Consulate, diplomats, and employees of the General Consulate of the Republic of Serbia in New York, led by General Consul Dr. Vladimir Božović, for the first time as a complete collective, since the establishment of the General Consulate of the Republic of Serbia in New York, attended the Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint Sava in New York, on the eve of St. Sava’s Day, on Sunday, January 26, 2025. In an inspiring sermon, Father Zivojin Jakovljevic, the head priest of the Church of Saint Sava, reminded the congregation of the greatness and significance of Saint Sava, emphasizing his Christian and enlightenment mission in the history of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serbian people. After the liturgy, members of the General Consulate attended the St. Sava celebration and formal luncheon, which were held in the Serbian Club in Glendale, prior to this significant holiday. At the event, the youngest members of the Serbian community expressed their respect and commitment to preserving the St. Sava tradition in the most beautiful way through a cultural and artistic program.
