The Consul General of the Republic of Serbia, Dr. Vladimir Božović, addressed the participants and laureates of the "Tesla Science" Awards at the 13th "Tesla Spirit" Conference organized by the Tesla Science Foundation.
In his speech, Dr. Božović emphasized the enduring relevance of Nikola Tesla’s legacy, not only in the context of his groundbreaking scientific achievements but particularly in the ethical principles that guided his work. He noted that these principles can serve as a beacon in today’s world, as we stand on the cusp of a new technological revolution marked by the rapid development of artificial intelligence.
Dr. Božović highlighted that Tesla’s ethical worldview was deeply rooted in his upbringing as the son of a Serbian Orthodox priest and his early exposure to Serbian traditions and culture, including epic poetry. These influences instilled in Tesla values such as honor, integrity, courage, and self-sacrifice, shaping his belief that science should serve the greater good.
Tesla’s life and work, as Dr. Božović stated, continue to inspire people around the globe to innovate while promoting the responsible use of technology for the benefit of humanity. He extended his congratulations to the award recipients and praised the efforts of the Tesla Science Foundation in promoting Tesla’s legacy and encouraging innovation among young people through the establishment of Tesla clubs across the United States.
